The vestibular system is primarily made up of the inner ear, and it plays a crucial role in our daily lives, allowing us to maintain balance and stability while walking, running, or performing various activities.
When this system is not functioning correctly, it can result in symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, nausea, and difficulties with coordination and balance.
Vestibular rehabilitation aims to alleviate these symptoms and improve your quality of life by providing a customized exercise program that targets the underlying causes of your vestibular disorder.
The program is designed to help the brain adapt to the changes in the vestibular system, reducing the symptoms of dizziness and improving balance and spatial orientation.
Our physiotherapists, Jacob, Aly and Duncan, will assess your symptoms and review your medical history to create an individualized treatment plan that may include various exercises, maneuvers, and other techniques to improve your vestibular function. These may include gaze stabilization techniques, balance training, stretching or strengthening.
